One rather interesting recent piece from India I have is an overmintmark
piece. This is a diamond over star mint mark example of a 1996 2 Rupees
coin. The underlying star is north of the diamond. Just three of the star's
five points are visible. In the field of modern world coins overmintmarks
are few and far between. Few countries use mints marks these days and even
fewer use more than one.
This is quite apparently a diamond (Bombay) over five-pointed star (Hyderabad)
mint mark.
This is on a standard design 2 Rupees (KM-121.5) of mine dated 1996.
