Some "odd" pieces I have...
-
Almost all coins of the circulation denomination since 1979 (since 1978
for Virenium pieces) have had diemarks, the main exceptions are those with
privy marks such as the "baby crib". I have one or two other exceptions...
The first is a proof bronze halfpenny piece of 1984 (KM-111) this has no
diemark. (My uncirculated piece KM-111 of 1984 has "AA" dieletters.) This
suggests that the other proof pieces of circulation types for 1984 are
without dieletter also. Another bronze half penny piece I have is e 1981
F.A.O. piece with the "World Food Day " legend on the reverse (KM-72.2).
This also is without a diemark. It would be interesting to know about diemarks
on type KM-72.1, this is like KM-72.2 but with reverse legend including
the world food day da "16-OCT-81". My 1981 pieces of the normal half penny
type (KM-58) are uncirculated 1981AA and proof 1981DD - as one might expect.
There will no doubt be a few more "odd" pieces.
